A word of caution: your average Mexican driver tends to be a bit more flexible with the rules than the average US driver. Starting at the San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego:

Las Rocas is on your right, a large white building with blue accents. Let the guards know that you are staying at the hotel so you can park in their lot or on the street near the guard station if it is full.
