Las Rocas Resort and Spa
Km 38.5 Carretera libre Tijuana - Ensenada
Playas De Rosarito, Baja California
C.P 22710 Mexico
How to Get There
By Car: Stop and get insurance before crossing the border. Las Rocas recommends ADA VIS Global (25% discount for Las Rocas Resort guests on all automobile insurance and legal aid.) 1.800.909.4457.
Take the toll road: from San Diego take Interstate 5 (or 805) south to the Mexican border. Follow the signs to Rosarito/ Ensenada, which will put you on the Scenic Toll Road. Continue on this road for approximately 23 miles, passing the exit for Playas de Tijuana, and through the tollgate where you'll pay about $2.30. Just past the third Rosarito exit, take the “La Paloma, Popotla, Calafia, Las Rocas" exit. Continue south on this road for approximately six miles to Las Rocas Resort & Spa, on your right overlooking the rocky bluffs of the Pacific Ocean
By Shuttle: Please contact Carlos at Las Rocas at 01152.661.614.0354 or by email at
carlos@lasrocas.com and he can help arrange a shuttle that will pick you up and return you to San Diego.
Keep in mind, we have a message
board to facilitate coordinating transportation with others heading to
the wedding.
Flying to the wedding? Although there is an international airport in Tijuana we recommend that you fly into San Diego Lindbergh Field. Southwest/JetBlue and
almost every other airlines flies into San Diego.
Tips About Mexico
Mexico is a beautiful and culturally rich country, whose people are welcoming and kind. We have had nothing but amazing experiences in this country and we hope to share this special place with you. For those who haven’t traveled to Mexico we have some helpful hints:
- Many Mexicans in Baja California speak English.
The hotel staff speaks English and is very gracious.
- The dollar is almost universally accepted instead of the peso at about a 10:1 ratio. Please don’t worry about changing money unless you want the real exchange rate of 11:1.
- Keep in mind that many people commute between San Diego and Mexico, so try and avoid the
border crossing at 5 pm on Friday afternoon.
- You must have your state’s Driver License, Passport, or Birth certificate to travel back into the USA.
Registry
While we certainly don't want you to
feel obligated to provide a gift beyond your presence, we have registered
at Crate
and Barrel and Target
for traditional wedding gifts. Both of these stores will give you the
option of shipping to us directly. To make transportation and
border-crossing easier, please send gifts to our home instead of bringing
them to the event.
Additionally, we are heading off for a
month-long honeymoon following the wedding in Southeast Asia. We have
created a Honeymoon
Registry that covers many of the hotels, transportation and
experiences we'd like to partake in while in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and
other exotic locales. If you decide to give the gift of travel, we'll be
sure to send you a picture of us having a great time along with a
heartfelt thanks!
